인터넷 익스플로러 하위버전 지원 종료!

2016년 1월 12일, IE 지원정책에 변경으로 IE 하위버전에 대한 지원이 중단됩니다. 

Microsoft 지원주기 정책은 최소 5년 일반지원 그리고 비즈니스 및 개발자 제품과 Windows 운영체제에 대한 최소 5년의 추가 지원을 제공합니다. 2016년 1월 12일부터 아래 표에서 지원되는 운영체제와 IE브라우저의 조합에만 기술지원 및 보안업데이트를 제공합니다. 

Windows7 에서는 IE11만 기술지원 및 보안업데이트를 받게 되며, IE8, IE9, IE10의 경우 IE11로의 업그레이드가 필요합니다.

지원주기정책이란?

MS는 지원주기정책이라는 것을 운영하고 있습니다. 지원주기정책이란, 제품 출시 후 최소 10년동안 관련 제품에 대한 수정과 보완을 지원하는 서비스로, 일반지원은 5년 또는 후속 제품(N+1) 출시 후 2년 중 더 긴 기간 동안 제공 하며, 일반 지원 기간 이후 5년 또는 2차 후속 제품(N+2) 출시 후 2년 중 더 긴 기간 동안 추가 지원도 제공됩니다.

MS는 갑작스런 지원종료로 인하여 일어날 수 있는 사회적 혼란을 막기 위하여, 2002년부터 소비자들이 제품종료 시간을 미리 예측하고 대비할 수 있는 지원주기확인 페이지를 운영중에 있습니다.

지원종료가 되면 어떻게 되나요?

지원종료가 되었다고 해서 현재 사용하고 있던 서버들이 멈추거나 갑자기 종료되는 일이 발생하지는 않습니다. 지원종료란 MS측에서 더 이상 어떠한 보안이나 기능상의 문제점도 해결해 주지 않는 시점을 말합니다. 

  

지원종료 후 가장 큰 문제점은 지원종료 시점 이후에 발견된 취약점이 악성코드의 공격통로로 악용되는 점 입니다. 지원종료 된 제품에서 보안취약점이 발견된다면, 더 이상 취약점패치가 진행되지 않기에 제로데이 상태로 시스템이 운영되게 되기 때문입니다. 

IE 브라우저 지원종료 대응책

1. IE 11로 업그레이드

사용하는 하위버전의 IE를 IE 11로 업그레이드 합니다.

2. 마이그레이션
